National Quality Standard and Assessment

You may be familiar with the previous process known as “Accreditation”. This system was different state to state and, previously, only services that received the Child Care Benefit – mainly long day care centres – underwent Accreditation.

acecqaNow, all early childhood education services are assessed under the National Quality Standard – part of the National Quality Framework (NFQ). This is a nationwide system that is overseen by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).

ACECQA works with regulatory authorities in each state and territory. In NSW this is the Early Childhood Education and Care Directorate, within the NSW Department of Education and Communities (DEC).

Under the new National Quality Standard, all Early Childhood Services nationally are working towards the same goal, and the same curriculum is used. In addition, the National Quality Standard assessment process is now undertaken in all early childhood education service, including long day care, family day care, preschools plus before and after school care.

Peter Rabbit was assessed in 2020. We received Meeting Accreditation. We are proud to be  recognized for the high quality educational service we provide.
